Fruehauf recently had the pleasure of welcoming three young people into its Grantham factory for a week of hands-on work experience. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation and promoting careers in UK manufacturing, the trio were given the opportunity to experience life inside one of the country’s most advanced trailer production facilities.
The group, some of whom have personal connections to the business through family members, spent time across different departments, gaining valuable insight into the processes, people and technology that go into building Fruehauf’s industry-leading trailers. The work experience placements are designed to give young people practical exposure to the workplace, as well as inspire them to consider careers in manufacturing, engineering, and logistics.
Feedback from the group has been overwhelmingly positive, with all three describing their time at Fruehauf as both enjoyable and rewarding. So much so, that they all expressed interest in returning again in future to build on their experience.
Fruehauf has a long history of supporting apprenticeships, training programmes and local career initiatives, with many of the current team having started their own journeys with the business in similar ways. The company firmly believes that providing opportunities for young people to engage with the industry is vital for both their personal development and the future of UK manufacturing.
Fruehauf would like to thank the group for their enthusiasm and hard work during their placements and wishes them the very best for their future studies and careers.
