Sign Writer / Graphics Livery Applicator

We are seeking a proactive all-rounder with experience of vehicle graphics application/wrap. The individual must have experience in application of vinyl, wallpaper, panel graphics, vinyl graphics along with all types of vehicle livery and wrapping. They must be organised, professional and punctual – relaying the information back to the designers/project managers. You will be expected to ensure projects are fitted and finished to the highest standards and be reliable and flexible to ensure the project is completed on time. Responsible to the Livery Production Supervisor on a day-to-day basis. Required to assist in the preparation of vehicle livery (vans, trucks, and trailers) to a high standard and the application of the livery. Main Duties
  • Use of wide format printers, plotters and cutters, hot and cold laminators, and rollers.
  • Fitting of livery to commercial vehicles (vans, trucks, and trailers).
  • Fitting of wrap media including both digital print and coloured vinyl to commercial vehicles.
  • General Housekeeping and keeping the work area and Workshop clean and tidy.
  • Performing repair work/installations work.
  • Logo designing and basic user design experience using software such as Adobe illustrator and Photoshop would be an advantage.
  • Probability of organising works on site, liaising with internal/external personnel.
  • Recording, completing, and providing essential job information as necessary for cost, labour management purposes, and stock allocation.
Essential
  • 2+ years of Vehicle graphics / wrapping experience.

Desirable
  • Design of the graphics and customer visuals.
  • Assembly and installation of vehicle graphics from simple to full wraps.

Experienced Crane Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a highly professional individual with a proven track record of working within the crane engineering/crane service within the commercial vehicle sector. MV Commercial is one of the leading specialist vehicle suppliers in the UK and fits, services and repairs cranes from all leading manufacturers including Hiab, Palfinger, Cormach and PM.

Key Skills

Ideally, you will hold an ALLMI Certification to carry out LOLER testing.

  • Will consider candidates qualified to [NVQ Level 3] and a considerable
    amount of experience working on the equipment.
  • 5 years hands on experience of maintaining, servicing, and repairing various pieces of crane and lifting equipment.
  • Knowledge and Understanding of LOLER regulations.
  • Ability to perform and oversee Loader testing.
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence customers.
  • To hold a full and clean driving licence.

Specific Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Reporting to Crane Department Management and ensure that own and team operations, including those undertaken on the Company's behalf are conducted in manner which fully complies with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Best Practices Policies.

  • Maintain cranes, prolonging the life of the equipment under our remit by
    means of preventative maintenance and servicing.
  • Reduce avoidable costs where possible for the group by achieving first time
    fix rate.
  • Advise the group/site in crane related and lifting operation matters.
  • Reduce crane breakdowns by Preventative Maintenance on component
    items.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and route cause analysis on components after
    failure.
  • Completion of Risk Assessment/Method Statements and Point of Work Risk Assessments.
  • Collate crane performance data and send monthly reports to manager for all sites.
  • Understand and deploy continuous improvement and problem-solving
    techniques to optimise crane availability, reliability, and performance.

Mechanical Design Engineer

An experienced mechanical design engineer required to develop and customise products for the Truck and Trailer industry.

  • Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to defined requirements.
  • Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production.
  • Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required.
  • Customer liaison for projects.
    Liaison with Workshop Supervisor’s to ensure projects are fulfilled on time.
  • Continuous Improvement of existing products.

Key Skills

  • A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork.
  • Hydraulic and Electrical Knowledge would be helpful.
  • The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range.
  • The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects.
  • Minimum of HND in Mechanical Engineering.

Other Skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of Inventor 3D CAD or similar.
  • Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time.
  • Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation.
  • Able to work as part of a small team.
  • Excellent communication skills.

HGV Fitters

To undertake a variety of fitting and welding activities to support the manufacturing facility.  The successful HGV Fitter will join an experienced team and their main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Fitting new truck and trailer components across our range of products.
  • May be required to weld, fabricate, and paint.
  • Make and fix small components on trucks and trailers (e.g. bracket fitting).
  • Recording all work done.
  • To be considered for the role you must be an all-rounder who is willing to support several aspects of the manufacturing process. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:
  • Demonstrable experience as a Fitter, ideally in an HGV trailer workshop.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, such as hoists or air-powered devices,
  • Welding, Fabricating and/or Painting experience,
  • Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles such as lorries and buses (advantageous),
  • Good attention detail.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety.

HGV Electrician

The qualified HGV Electrician will undertake a variety of electrical activities to support the production of trucks and trailers to specification. The successful HGV Electrician will join the repairs and special projects team and their main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Create wiring looms and control boxes.
  • Testing electrical circuits and control systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems, wiring and equipment to ensure they are safe and functioning properly.
  • Electrical diagnosis and fault finding.
  • Fix faults and/or replacing electrical parts.
  • Following technical plans.
  • Adhering to strict safety regulations.
  • Learning about new electrical legislation/specifications.

To be considered for the HGV Electrician role you must have a methodical and logical approach. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:

    • Experienced in all aspects of truck and trailer electrics.
    • Capable of reading and creating wiring diagrams (preferably on AutoCAD).
    • Must be able to create wiring looms and control boxes.
    • Must be able to fit a variety of products outside and inside the vehicle.
    • Must be able to adapt to the ever-changing workload.
    • Good attention detail.
    • Knowledge of workplace health and safety.

HGV Hydraulics Technician

To undertake Hydraulic system assembly and installation to support the production of trucks and trailers to specification. The successful Hydraulics Technician will join an experienced team and their main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Fitting rams, wet kits, conveyor floors and walking floors.
  • Creation of schematic drawings for future use.
  • Following technical plans.
  • Adhering to strict safety regulations.

To be considered for the Hydraulics Technician role you must have a methodical and logical approach. In addition, the following key skills and experience are essential:

  • Previous experience in hydraulic assembly and installation (preferably on HGV trucks and trailers).
  • Ability to plan the layout of hydraulic components to achieve a logical and balanced system.
  • Capable of reading and creating schematic drawings for future work.
  • Knowledge of electrical/hydraulic fitting techniques.
  • Good problem-solving skills and techniques.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety.
