Harrowby United secured an impressive victory over local rivals Grantham Town FC to be crowned South Kesteven Charity Cup champions in front of a strong crowd at Fruehauf Stadium.
The annual competition, which brings together grassroots football clubs from across the South Kesteven area ahead of the new season, saw Harrowby produce a disciplined and determined performance from start to finish.
Harrowby took control of the match in the first half, with goals from Kieran Stanley and Jacob Boyes giving the side a deserved two-goal advantage before the break. Grantham Town responded after half-time and managed to pull one goal back, but Harrowby’s organised defence stood firm throughout the second period to secure a 2-1 victory and lift the trophy.
The result highlights the dedication, talent and community spirit that continue to define grassroots football across the region. The support of local sponsors also plays an important role in helping clubs thrive, with Fruehauf proudly backing Harrowby United both on and off the pitch.
Congratulations to everyone involved at Harrowby United, including the players, coaching staff, volunteers and supporters, on a well-earned South Kesteven Charity Cup triumph.
