Fruehauf attended the South Kesteven Council Skills Summit at Grantham College this week. Designed to bridge the gap between local students and prospective employers, it saw around 400 pupils from surrounding schools engage with businesses offering apprenticeships and career opportunities.
As one of Grantham’s largest employers, Fruehauf was proud to be involved, showcasing the wide variety of roles within the business and inspiring the next generation of workers. The event provided a valuable platform to discuss career paths, industry insights and the skills required to thrive in the sector.
Nick Garton, Managing Director of Fruehauf, commented: “Fruehauf has been at the heart of the Grantham community for many years, and we were delighted to support this fantastic skills summit run by South Kesteven Council. We are always keen to engage where we can with potential employees of the future and encourage our next generation.”
The event reaffirmed Fruehauf’s commitment to investing in local talent, ensuring that young people in the area have access to quality career prospects and the opportunity to develop their skills within a well-established business.
As part of the event, our Special Projects Manager, David Lewington, was interviewed by Julia, an apprentice at the college, to discuss career opportunities, industry insights, and the importance of apprenticeships in manufacturing. Watch the clip below:
