Lomas Distribution Praises Fruehauf’s Reliability and Support in New Video Case Study

Fruehauf Case Study - Lomas Distribution

Fruehauf has released a new video case study showcasing its strong partnership with Lomas Distribution, renowned for its bulk tanker operations. Head of Fleet Sean Smith highlights the premium quality, durability, and outstanding customer support that make Fruehauf trailers a vital part of their fleet.

Established in 1988, Lomas Distribution specialises in transporting bulk materials such as powdered lime, cement, gypsum, and aggregates. The company operates a fleet of high-spec vehicles and demands equipment that aligns with its reputation for premium service. In the video, Smith explains why Fruehauf has been the go-to choice for bulk tankers and tipping trailers over the years:

“If you had a Fruehauf trailer back when artics were running at 32 tonnes, you knew you had a top-quality trailer. When the industry moved to 38 tonnes with 55 cubic yard bathtubs, those trailers were in such high demand you simply couldn’t find them second-hand—they were snapped up in minutes.”

Lomas Distribution primarily runs bulk sloper trailers but also operates half-pipe models for specialist applications. Across the fleet, Fruehauf’s reliability and performance have been key advantages. “The Fruehauf bulkers we currently run have been fantastic. We don’t have issues with them, and if there’s ever a problem with ancillary equipment, the factory is just two hours away. The team is always on hand, just a phone call away, and the support is second to none,” Smith adds.

Beyond build quality, Smith sees a shared ethos between Lomas Distribution and Fruehauf. “Fruehauf has always had a reputation as a premium brand. We pride ourselves on delivering a premium service, and Fruehauf aligns with that vision perfectly. That’s why they continue to be our first choice for bulk tippers.”
