Grantham, Lincolnshire – 13/11/24
Fruehauf Trailers, a long-established leader in trailer manufacturing, is reaffirming its commitment to the local community and social responsibility through a series of recent activities aimed at fostering collaboration, supporting local businesses, and encouraging sustainable development.
Last week, Fruehauf’s Special Projects Manager, David Lewington, had the pleasure of hosting Councillor Tim Harrison for an in-depth tour of the company’s 64-acre site and 550,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Grantham. The tour underscored Fruehauf’s dedication to operational excellence, its investment in local infrastructure, and its ongoing contributions to the region’s economic growth.
Engaging with Local Leadership and Industry Partners
During the tour, Councillor Harrison was able to see firsthand how Fruehauf continues to expand its operations and bring valuable employment opportunities to Grantham and the surrounding area. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is home to cutting-edge technology, skilled artisans, and dedicated workers who craft some of the highest-quality trailers in the industry.
“We were delighted to welcome Councillor Harrison to our site,” said David Lewington, Special Projects Manager at Fruehauf. “Our team is proud of the work we do here, and it’s important to us that we remain actively engaged with local leaders and stakeholders. It’s through these conversations and collaborations that we can continue to grow, while also being mindful of the positive impact we can make on the community around us.”

In addition to hosting the local councillor, Fruehauf also took the opportunity to further strengthen relationships within the regional business community. Recently, Fruehauf joined the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, and the company has already participated in several networking events and meetings with other local businesses.
“Being part of the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce is an exciting opportunity for us,” said Lewington. “It’s been fantastic to meet like-minded companies, share ideas, and explore new ways to collaborate. We are excited to be a part of this vibrant business community, and we are looking forward to contributing to the success of Lincolnshire’s economy.”
Exploring Collaborative Working with Local Businesses
As part of their commitment to fostering collaboration, Fruehauf also visited Pentangle Engineering in Grantham last week. There, Lewington and the team had productive discussions with Nigel Rivers about potential areas of cooperation, from manufacturing innovations to shared business development opportunities.
“We see a lot of value in working with local partners who share our commitment to quality and innovation,” said Lewington. “By collaborating with companies like Pentangle Engineering, we can drive efficiencies, improve products, and support the growth of local industries. It’s this kind of synergy that benefits the entire region.”
Fruehauf has long been a firm believer in the power of collaboration. Whether it’s with local suppliers, educational institutions, or other manufacturers, the company is always looking for ways to create value not just for itself, but for the broader community.

Supporting Local Initiatives and Sustainable Practices
Beyond these business-focused initiatives, Fruehauf takes its social responsibility seriously by ensuring its operations are sustainable, community-focused, and socially conscious. The company has been a consistent supporter of local causes, from education programs to charitable events. Fruehauf’s workforce also actively participates in volunteer efforts, giving back to the community in meaningful ways.
“We are committed to ensuring that our growth is responsible and sustainable,” said Lewington. “This means supporting local initiatives, creating jobs, and minimising our environmental footprint. We want to ensure that Fruehauf remains an asset to Grantham and the surrounding area for many years to come.”
A Strong Future for Fruehauf in Lincolnshire
As Fruehauf continues to grow its presence in the region, the company remains deeply committed to its social responsibilities. From investing in local talent to strengthening partnerships with other businesses, Fruehauf’s leadership team is focused on creating a positive, lasting impact on both the local economy and the community as a whole.
“We take our role in the local community very seriously, and we are always looking for new ways to give back,” said Lewington. “The future is bright, and we’re excited about the continued opportunities for growth and collaboration, not just within Fruehauf, but across the wider Lincolnshire business community.”
As Fruehauf moves forward, its focus remains firmly on developing a strong, sustainable business while making a positive impact both locally and within the industry.
