3R Solutions Hails Fruehauf’s Quality, Reliability & Speed in New Video Case Study

Fruehauf has debuted a new video case study highlighting its relationship with waste management transport specialist, 3R Solutions, following the company’s recent acquisition of 20 Fruehauf trailers to support a major new contract.

Based in West Lothian, 3R Solutions has over 30 years as an organic waste management and recycling service provider. With a tight deadline to meet, the company turned to Fruehauf for a fleet of high-spec trailers that would ensure seamless operations from day one.

David Ireland, Owner and Director of 3R Solutions, explains in the video: “The opportunity for a new contract came along, and we needed to make a statement. We were looking for British-built trailers with strong backup support, and Fruehauf ticked all the boxes. The ordering process was straightforward, but securing the work was the hardest part. Once the contract was in place, time was critical. We needed the trailers on the road quickly – and Fruehauf delivered.”

The new additions to the fleet include Sloper models equipped with weigh cells, alloy wheels, electric sheets and air-operated tailgates—specifications that were vital for the company’s operations. “Sloper trailers were important because step frame models can cause material build-up,” Ireland adds. “Fruehauf’s build quality stood out, and the fact they were already in our colours—post office red chassis with silver bodies—was an added bonus.”

Ireland also praised Fruehauf’s customer service, highlighting the impact of direct communication: “The personal approach made a difference. Tom from Fruehauf was keen to do business, and so were we. From placing the order to having the trailers fully calibrated, sign written and ready to work was a rapid process, and the backup support has been first class.”

With the trailers now in full operation, 3R Solutions continues to strengthen its waste transport capabilities, ensuring an efficient and environmentally responsible service for its clients. “The trailers arrived, and we were ready to go—exactly what we needed,” Ireland concludes.
