Fruehauf Trailer Tour: The Bathtub Trailer

fruehauf bathtub trailer walkaround video

Following the success of our first video walkaround, which explored the Smoothside Stepframe trailer, Fruehauf is back with the second instalment in our series, this time focusing on the Bathtub trailer. National Technical Sales Specialist Karl Spooner once again takes the lead, joined by media specialist Julia Fiander, to provide a detailed look at one of Fruehauf’s longest-standing and most enduring trailer designs.

In this latest video, Karl breaks down exactly what makes the Bathtub unique, explaining how its traditional build continues to meet the needs of operators who prefer its robust, high-strength construction. One of the most striking differences between the Bathtub and other models is its fully welded one-piece ribs, which provide exceptional durability and structural integrity. Karl also highlights some of the practical considerations when using the Bathtub, including its ladder storage design, which neatly fits between the ribs for easy access.

As with all Fruehauf trailers, attention to detail is key. The video showcases Alcoa Dura-Bright wheels, a built-in toolbox, a rack and pinion grain hatch for precise tipping, and full LED lighting, including additional reverse lights that significantly improve visibility when manoeuvring at night. A notable feature is the stone guards, designed to prevent debris from resting on the tailgate bar when tipping aggregates. Operators also have the option of manual or air-operated tailgates, with the latter becoming increasingly popular for ease of use.

With a focus on strength, reliability, and operator convenience, the Bathtub continues to be a go-to choice for many in the haulage industry.
