At the time of this recording he had 17 steel rigid bodies on site, another five being delivered and he says he will then order some more. He goes on to say that Fruehauf’s market-leading lead time was what they needed and he was impressed during a visit to the factory in Grantham. “With them, it’s a matter of weeks, not months, and that’s seriously important to usS Walsh & Sons – Steel Rigid Body
The temperature may have dropped below freezing as Fruehauf headed to LAMMA 2016 in January, but they came away with nothing but positives.
Making their first appearance at LAMMA, the UK’s largest agricultural and machinery show, Fruehauf were the only trailer manufacturers present, and the show generated several leads from farmers and farm contractors alike.
Visitors to the stand were keen to find out more about the range of tipper trailers Fruehauf manufacture – from bulkers and semi-bulkers to aggregates and specialist trailers while they also displayed some of the latest models from their rapidly-expanding range of alloy and steel rigid bodies.
Fruehauf’s ability to consistently manufacture tipper trailers in short timeframes without compromising on quality has contributed to their success, meaning the trailers maintain high residual values and offer significant weight savings.
The show was an unqualified success for Fruehauf, and they are already expecting a return in 2017 – whatever the weather.
Farmers Weekly editor, David Cousins, has chosen our trailers as one of the pieces of kit to watch from Cereals 2015, amongst the likes of drills and mowers.

Big farms can run up haulage bills of £30,000, so it can makes good financial sense to run your own truck (and maybe haul your neighbour’s crops too). In fact more than 50% of ag haulage companies were started by farmers.
The Smooth Sider range benefits from the new Performance Chassis and 30mm standard plank sides. There is also a heavy duty step frame version with 50mm plank sides and a thicker section.
Thicker crossmembers over the kingpin create a flatter floor, a top rail shaped to avoid loading damage and an extended near sub-frame increasing strength, make the Performance Smooth Sider the only viable alternative to the Performance bathtub.
Fruehauf headed to Harrogate for Tip-Ex 2015 where they exhibited the newest version of the Halfpipe aggregate tipper trailer and their latest steel rigid bodies.
The new Halfpipe has an improved design and is more lightweight than previous versions with several key features and benefits.
Meanwhile, Sales Director David Thomson also outlines the Fruehauf steel rigid body utility vehicles, which are proving propular in London.
These include the steel rigid body with grab in a new configuration.
